Our dedicated group of family and technicians have put in the hard work necessary to build our reputation. Company officers who started honing their machining skills at the age of twelve give us decades of solid experience and vast knowledge of the industry in areas such as Research & Development and Tool & Fixture Making.
Our first big break came from a government contractor asking to assist them in their design of a custom vehicle to be transported inside the Osprey Helicopter. This design allowed soldiers to inflate and deflate the tires safely from inside the vehicle while traveling different terrains and providing shelter from enemy fire. It was at this time our company growth allowed our Production Manager to obtain his degree in Machine Technology, giving us the edge as quality experts and the ability to execute analytics on other produced components for defects and corrections.
From the time of its inception, as a backyard startup, Marion Precision Tool started doing work for the Defense Logistics Agency in small government contracts. Our biggest breakthrough came when we were awarded a large contract for the US Army Blackhawk Helicopters as a small woman-owned business, and we collaborated with a service-disabled small business. Marion Precision Tool established their reputation as a reliable, high-quality machine shop by delivering the first year of the contract ahead of schedule with 100% product integrity. As a result of our performance, we were awarded a 5-year contract which forged our growth into a larger facility with an expanded work-force and $1 million in CNC machinery upgrades. This poised us to increase production volume by securing additional contracts as well as becoming part of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership. Embedding ourselves in the local economy has introduced us to new opportunities and a growing customer base.
Being a family business, we have embraced the family culture in our shop. Our company background also has a strong base in military work, and since we are not serving our country in the field, we strongly support our military with on-time delivery and superior quality-managed workmanship. We take great pride in the components we manufacture.
